UNIQUE, awesome association Presidential relic, leather & cloth golf bag owned & used by President Dwight Eisenhower, manufactured by Burton, 32" in length, exhibits tremendous use, accompanied by one of Ike's golf balls & 3 of his golf tees. Eisenhower gave the bag, still containing clubs, to T. Coleman Andrews Jr, who in turn gave bag as gift to his friend & golfing buddy Jim Sale, a top-ranked golfer in Virginia, provenance: University Archives, accompanied by additional notarized letter of provenance from Sale's widow, who noted that "[Andrews] told Jim that the President had played many times with the bag and clubs, the clubs were lost over the years. The ball and tees were also said to be game used by the President." |

Lincoln", 8.25x6, Dec 10 1858 surety bond as Henry Stoddard's attorney with fascinating content regarding case between Stoddard & Sylvester Ball, in part: "I do enter myself security for costs in this cause and promise to pay all costs which may accrue to the opposite party...in default of payment by the plaintiff...and stipulate that execution may issue against my property...", Lincoln's signature exceptionally dark, bold & pristine, professional archival restoration on verso at fold, unlike vast majority of Lincoln legal documents which are signed "Lincoln & [co-counsel]" or "[co-counsel] & Lincoln" this example is signed with his full name signature, handsomely custom framed & matted with portrait overall size 20x24. Of historical note Stoddard vs Ball case dealt with distribution of proceeds from sale of Stoddard's Addition to St. Louis, "the first great auction of real estate in St. Louis", Ball defaulted on $10,000 bond to Stoddard, who retained Lincoln's firm |
