Eisenhower gave the bag, still containing clubs, to T. Coleman Andrews Jr, who in turn gave bag as gift to his friend & golfing buddy Jim Sale, a top-ranked golfer in Virginia, provenance: University Archives, accompanied by additional notarized letter of provenance from Sale's widow, who noted that "[Andrews] told Jim that the President had played many times with the bag and clubs, the clubs were lost over the years. The ball and tees were also said to be game used by the President." |
